United Trust Bank (UTB) has appointed Alex Tyrwhitt (pictured above) to the newly created role of director of structured property solutions, leading both structured property finance and strategic partnership teams.

Alex, who brings almost 20 years of experience in the UK real estate industry, is a chartered surveyor, former RICs registered valuer and has previously worked for Lambert Smith Hampton, GE Capital and HSBC.

Most recently, he spent eight years at Octane Capital as director of structured finance.

In his new role, Alex will lead the structured property solutions team, report to UTB’s CCO Mark Stokes and work closely with Gerard Morgan Jackson, founder and sales director of structured property finance and Ben Peters, head of strategic partnerships.

The division aims to structure high value (£1m+) real estate solutions for brokers, developer and investor borrowers and strategic lending partners for bridging, investment and property improvement/repositioning projects, both residential and commercial, across England and Wales.

Commenting on his appointment, Alex said: “I am excited to join UTB and have the opportunity to work with a talented and knowledgeable team in further developing the bank’s structured property solutions and delivering the next phase of UTB’s growth strategy in the sector.

“UTB has established an excellent reputation for providing competitive, bespoke facilities quickly and with outstanding broker and customer service and we will be aiming to build on that success as we develop our activities and reach.”

Mark commented: “The structured property finance team have achieved rapid growth in the last five years, and we see considerable opportunity for the bank to be an even more significant participant in the sector.

“Alex’s broad experience and track record make him the ideal person to lead the enlarged division to even greater success.”
